Tom Brady is currently in his rookie year as FOX's color commentator. Though he's made some progress over the past few months, there's no guarantee he'll stick around for the 2025 season.
Earlier this month, Richard Deitsch of The Athletic predicted that Brady would leave FOX before the start of the 2025 season. He said, "I’m going bold and saying Brady gets deeper involved with the Las Vegas Raiders in the offseason and decides to go all in with NFL ownership and his production company by the start of the next NFL season." Well, it turns out he's not the only person who expects the legendary quarterback to ditch the broadcast booth.
Former Miami Marlins president David Samson made similar remarks this week about Brady's future at FOX.
Samson is convinced that Brady is running the Las Vegas Raiders right now. With free agency and the draft approaching, there might be too much on the seven-time Super Bowl champion's plate. That could lead to him leaving.
"Tom Brady is running that team right now - the NFL knows it and Fox knows it and something has got to give. So enjoy Tom in the booth because you're not going to see him there next year," Samson said. "He will be in the Raiders' front office, he will not return as an analyst for Fox - you cannot be this involved in the operation of a team and be the No 1 analyst. It's an absolute insult to analysts what he's doing. And it's an insult to team president what he's doing. You end up doing both of them in a mediocre way... and I promise you he will choose the Raiders."
Brady signed a contract with FOX that's worth $375 million. Walking away from that deal would be tough, but he's not exactly in desperate need of money.
If Brady does leave FOX this offseason, that could open the door for Greg Olsen to return to the No. 1 broadcast team. He has really developed into a great analyst over the past few years.
Brady will be in the City of Brotherly Love this weekend to call a playoff game between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles.
