These 2 minutes got Dallas back to .500 in 2025

The Dallas Cowboys were less than 10 yards away from finding themselves tied at 10 in the first half against the New York Jets on Sunday. Then came two minutes that all but sealed the win for the Cowboys.

Breece Hall broke through the line on a third and one and appeared to be ready to give the Jets a first and goal with 2:27 left in the half.

But Marist Liufau punched the ball loose and Sam Williams pounced on the loose ball at the Cowboys nine to preserve a 10-3 lead.

A 46-yard pass from Dak Prescott to Ryan Flournoy got the Cowboys to the Jets 16. Two plays later, Javonte Williams capped a seven-play, 91-yard drive with a five-yard run for a 17-3 lead with 57 seconds left.

The Jets went three-and-out on their next possession, only taking 28 seconds off the clock.

Taking over on their own 33 with 29 seconds left, Williams busted a 66-yard run.

Then Prescott found Jake Ferguson for a 23-3 lead with 15 seconds left after Brandon Aubrey hit the upright on the point after try.

Dallas would extend the lead to 27 on a Prescott to Pickens 43-yard strike. The Jets never got back into the game, scoring two late touchdowns in the final quarter.

But in reality, those final two minutes of the first half are why the Cowboys are back to .500 at 2-2-1.

Flournoy Makes His Case

Flournoy watched as others benefited from his work when it came to scoring touchdowns.

But he led the receivers with six catches and 114 yards, including the longest play of the day. Only Ferguson, with seven, had more receptions.

Expect Jalen Tolberts time on the field to decline, especially when CeeDee Lamb returns.

Flournoy should be WR3 for the rest of the year, unless Jonathan Mingo turns into Jerry Rice when he returns to the active roster.

We Have A Defense

Much maligned, and rightfully so, for the first four weeks of the season, the Cowboys defense showed up on Sunday.

Yes, it was against the now 05 Jets, but this unit got lit up by Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears earlier this year.

In addition to forcing the key fumble in the first half, the defense sacked Justin Fields five times on Sunday. They still allowed a lot of total yardage and over 20 points.

But most of that damage came when theyd let off of the gas with a 27-point lead in hand.

Jersey Boys?

The Cowboys are now 2-0 against teams that play their home games in New Jersey. Unfortunately, they are 0-2-1 this year against teams that dont call New Jersey home.

And they only have one more game remaining to play in New Jersey.

That one comes on the final game of the season against the Giants.

Next team goal? Beat a non-New Jersey affiliated team.

By The Numbers

Dallas is now 9-5 all-time against the Jets, and 6-3 when playing at New York. The Cowboys snapped a two-game losing streak to the Jets when playing in New York.

The Cowboys are now 35-26-2 overall and 12-17-1 record when playing on the road in the fifth week.

Sunday was the first time the Cowboys and Jets met in the fifth week of the year.

Double Your Scoragami

For the second straight week, the Dallas Cowboys had a game end with a unique final score.

Last weeks 40-40 tie with Green Bay was the first such score in a game involving Dallas.

Sundays 37-22 score was the first time in Cowboys history one of their 1,070 combined regular season and playoff games. It is the 424th unique final score for the Cowboys.
