As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare for training camp in just a few weeks, fans are already anticipating storylines and potential surprises within the roster.

One of the more fun things to monitor during camp is the end-of-roster spots that are up for grabs. But, there are some players whom the Eagles even recently signed that might not end up making it out of camp with a job.

Which recently-signed players might not make the Eagles' final roster after camp? Let's highlight a few.

A few recent Eagles signings look like cut candidates even before training camp begins

Avery Williams, WR

At one point a fifth-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons out of Boise State back in 2021, Avery Williams has appeared in 49 career games. However, he's mostly been used on special teams. In Philadelphia, his biggest competition for a roster spot will come from Terrace Marshall, Danny Gray and Elijah Cooks.

Patrick Johnson, OLB

Speaking of special teams players, the Eagles originally drafted Patrick Johnson out of Tulane in that same year Williams was drafted, 2021, and in the seventh round. Johnson briefly spent time with the New York Giants before returning to Philly, but he will have an uphill battle in a crowded linebacker room.

In total, Philadelphia added seven linebackers this offseason between outside and inside, and via the draft or free agency.

Montrell Johnson Jr., RB

Montrell Johnson Jr. went undrafted this year out of Florida, and was scooped up by the Eagles to join competition alongside AJ Dillon, Keilan Robinson and a couple of others. Saquan Barkley and Will Shipley aren't going anywhere, which. means Johnson has a tough climb if he's going to stick around.

Cameron Latu, TE

At one point, we thought the Eagles' tight end room could see a big shakeup with Dallas Goedert leaving, but alas, he is still here. That makes things even more tough on Cameron Latu, who came over by way of the Browns' practice squad. The former Alabama product will have to compete with Harrison Bryant, Kylen Granson among a few others for one of the last tight end spots.

BJ Mayes, CB

Joining Johnson in the rookie free agent pool in Philly, former Texas A&M cornerback BJ Mayes will try his luck at earning a spot on the roster. The problem is, there will be tons of competition at cornerback with two other fellow rookies, free agent signing Adoree' Jackson and the rest of the crew already intact.
