This Cowboys star may leave football to pursue 2028 Olympics

Dallas Cowboys fans, look away. One star defensive player is possibly considering leaving football to pursue his chances at participating in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

On Sunday night, defensive end Micah Parsons posted on X asking his followers for ideas on events to train and qualify for at the next Summer Games.

Parsons could represent Team USA in flag football if he so chooses. The sport will make its debut at the Los Angeles Games.

Or perhaps he could take a shot at being the fastest man alive in the 100m dash. Parsons clocked in at 4.36 seconds in his 40-yard dash at the 2021 NFL Combine.

But while it's unclear if Parsons was joking or dead serious, the 25-year-old showed signs of Olympic fever during the Paris Games.

Parsons posted again on X Sunday night, this time seeming to declare he would take "a break from football" in 2027 in order to get ready for the Olympics.

Dallas fans may have a shortened window on Parson's championship capabilities if he's truly committed to trying to qualify for the Los Angeles Games.

Just add it to the growing list of headaches for owner Jerry Jones as the 2024-25 NFL season approaches.
