This is how Jordan Love reacted when asked about playing against Aaron Rodgers, and his response might surprise some Packers fans

Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers have a close relationship . Their three years together was much more pleasing than when Brett Favre did everything in his power to challenge the Green Bay Packers' quarterback transition to Rodgers in the previous decade.

Now, though, both quarterbacks will be on opposite sides for a week in 2025. Rodgers is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers , the matchup that didn't happen while the veteran was on the New York Jets will eventually play out.

Rodgers is slated to face the Packers on Sunday Night Football in Week 8, and he can become the fifth quarterback ever to beat all 32 teams.

Jordan Love spent three years as Aaron Rodgers' backup for the Packers. Now, he's entering his third season as a full-time starter. The idea of playing against his mentor is intriguing for Love, as he told Rich Eisen back in April. And he actually thinks it could be a positive experience — which may surprise some people.

"I would love to get the opportunity to play against A-Rod," Love said. "Having a guy that mentored me in the league, was someone I gotta be a backup behind, to be able to get the opportunity to play against him, and be on the other side of him, it would be special, it would be cool."

Old feelings

Back in 2009 and 2010, Brett Favre did play against the Packers. After a year playing for the Jets, he was released and purposefully chose the Minnesota Vikings to face his old team twice a year.

In 2009, the Vikings won both games. However, the Packers and Aaron Rodgers had their revenge in 2010, with two wins and a Super Bowl championship.

Aaron Rodgers had an amazing 18-year tenure with the Packers, from 2005 to 2022, including 15 years as a starter. He won the MVP award and was a First-Team All-Pro four times, a Second-Team All-Pro once, made the Pro Bowl ten times, and won Super Bowl XLV — and the game's MVP award too.
