New Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Thomas Brown wasn't satisfied with how Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers went down despite his unit showing signs of improvement. In the wake of a 20-19 loss to Green Bay, Brown asserted the Bears "came up short" and challenged the staff and players to elevate their efforts as Chicago's gauntlet schedule presses on.
“There are no attaboys in this game. We play the game to win and we came up short.”

Brown already sounds like a head coach who holds himself and the locker room accountable. It's no wonder he's considered a potential head coaching candidate for the 2025 season.
Tight end Cole Kmet recently discussed Brown's coaching philosophy and the differences he's seeing on "The Eighty Five" podcast.

Barring a dramatic turnaround, it seems likely that current Bears head coach Matt Eberflus will be shown the door at the end of the season. If the Bears already have a heading coaching candidate in-house, does it make sense to make a move now and have Brown audition for the role?
The development of Caleb Williams and the offense will be a huge factor in the Bears' next hire. Suppose Brown can build on his momentum from the Packers game and showcase his ability to call up a game against one of the most aggressive defensive play-callers in the league (Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores). Would he merit serious consideration?
In a season where the playoffs feel out of reach, there's still plenty of consequential football ahead for the 2024 Bears.
