According to their over/under number, the New York Giants are expected to win about six games in 2024.
We expect them to lose 100% of these three games.
Week 3 | at Cleveland Browns
After missing the last eight games of 2023 with a torn ACL, Cleveland’s defense is the last thing quarterback Daniel Jones wants to see in 2024. Jones averaged a career-low 5.7 yards per attempt in six games last year, throwing just two touchdowns and six interceptions with a career-low quarterback rating of 70.5.
Against the Browns, he’ll face a defense that allowed a league-low 270.2 yards per game last season. Cleveland earned top marks against the run and pass while making 49 sacks, sixth-most in the NFL. Rest assured, Kevin Stefanski’s team will test Jones’ surgically repaired knee, while Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson looks to get back on track after missing most of last season with a shoulder injury.
Week 4 | vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Giants have lost six straight games against the Cowboys and 13 of their last 14 matchups. Their last win came at the end of the 2020 regular season in a game that actually saw quarterback Andy Dalton finish as the Cowboys’ leading rusher.
The return of Ezekiel Elliott won’t do much for Dallas’ run game, but wide receiver CeeDee Lamb could do real damage to a Giants defense that allowed the seventh-most points per game (23.9) in 2023.
Per Statmuse, Lamb has 52 catches for 722 yards with four touchdowns (three receiving and one rushing) in eight games against the Giants in his career. His 1,749 yards were second-most in the NFL last season, and after losing safety Xavier McKinney to the Packers this offseason, new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen will have to get creative if the Giants hope to stop one of the NFL’s best receivers.
Week 7 | vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are 16-4 against the Giants over the past 10 years. New York’s last win came at the end of the 2023 season in a game that ultimately meant nothing for playoff-bound Philadelphia. That certainly won’t be the case for the Eagles and running back Saquon Barkley in Week 7.
After six years, 47 touchdowns and 7,311 yards in New York, Barkley signed a three-year, $37M contract to join Philadelphia. Surrounded by teammates with playoff aspirations, he’ll look to prove a point against his old team, especially after a phone conversation with Giant’s general manager Joe Schoen made its way to an episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks
Here's the phone call between #Giants GM Joe Schoen and Saquon Barkley when he was told he would be allowed to become a free agent.

Schoen asked Barkley if he could get his word on circling back to them during the process.

With or without Barkley, the Eagles have one of the NFL’s best offensive rosters thanks to pass-catchers like A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and veteran tight end Dallas Goedert.
Goedert and Brown played sparingly in the teams’ last matchup, while Smith missed the game altogether. That won’t be the case in late October, and the results will be different than they were at the end of the 2023 regular season.
