Three NFL playoff teams that should target Trevon Diggs

The Dallas Cowboys have officially moved on from CB Trevon Diggs.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer had already hinted at the team being just fine without the former All-Pro defensive back. Diggs had publicly called out defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, and given his steep salary, history of injuries and volatile character, this wasn't much of a surprise.

Then again, the timing did raise some questions, as the Cowboys have now given him a chance to join a playoff contender. With that in mind, we'll take a look at the three teams that should get him on the phone once he clears waivers.

3. New England Patriots

Stefon Diggs has found a new home in Foxborough, and even in the wake of the recent accusations against him, the New England Patriots have had his back. It wouldn't be wild to think that they could double down and also sign his brother.

While Christian Gonzalez has been stellar for Mike Vrabel's team, Carlton Davis III has been a little inconsistent. Diggs might not be a starter there, but he'd certainly welcome the opportunity to play with Stefon.

2. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers are limping their way to the playoffs. Matt LaFleur's team has dealt with countless injuries this season, and the cornerback position has been a vulnerability for it all year long.

While Carrington Valentine has been a major upgrade over Nate Hobbs, Keisean Nixon still has plenty of room for improvement. Diggs isn't the ballhawk he used to be, but he might give this team just enough in the postseason.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

There would be no better way to get back at Jerry Jones and the Cowboys than by making a deep postseason run with the Philadelphia Eagles. And even though he's not in his prime anymore, he might still be an upgrade for Vic Fangio's defense.

Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean have been as good as usual this season, but the CB2 spot has been a major headache all year long. Diggs could finally give the Eagles some stability after rotating the struggling Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo.
