The starry-eyed Cowboys believe free-agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. is a fit for a new role. Here are three reasons OBJ makes sense for Dallas:
Per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, "The Cowboys are leaning into this big-time."
In his Monday news conference, head coach Mike McCarthy praised OBJ: "I've always been a huge fan."
On Tuesday on KRLD-FM in Dallas, owner Jerry Jones said: "He would look good with a star on his helmet."
Praise from an owner and head coach is significant. A player relishes commitment from both.

Beckham Jr., a three-time Pro Bowler, is seeking a longterm deal.
"I want to be able to spill into something... where I can buy a home," he told Complex's sports podcast.
Dallas can make this happen. It has the seventh-most cap space in the NFL, more than the Bills and Giants, who are playoff contenders and also interested in the wideout.
The Cowboys keep agressively courting Beckham Jr. because he suits their passing offense, a unit that needs pop.
Although QB Dak Prescott missed five games with a fractured right thumb, the passing offense only surpassed the league average once in his three starts. CeeDee Lamb is Dallas' only elite target, explaining the Cowboys' lack of big plays.
If the Cowboys add Beckham Jr., he could take pressure off Prescott and Lamb. Also, it opens up the playbook, creating more explosive plays that increase Dallas' Super Bowl odds.
Dallas (6-2) seems only one key offensive piece short of vaulting into Super Bowl contention. Despite coming off knee surgery, OBJ can be that guy.
