Three-round Indianpolis Colts mock draft

If the Colts were able to add extra draft capital and still land a talent like Quinyon Mitchell, the first round would be a major win. He's a player that I think the team would seriously consider drafting if they stay at pick 15. Mitchell is an excellent fit for the Colts' heavy zone scheme. His 4.33 speed might be a perfect fit next to Juju Brents on the outside at CB,

Trade: 

The Colts sent picks 46 (2nd), 117 (4th), and a 2024 4th to the Los Angeles Chargers for pick 37 (2nd). 

Round 2, Pick 37: Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

"Another team that traded back in the 1st round moves up here after landing some extra capital. The Colts need more speed and big play ability on offense, and Texas WR Xavier Worthy fits that bill perfectly. His slender build will take him off some team boards, which is why I have him falling into round two here. But the Colts have done extensive work on him during this process and they've shown they are willing to trade up for players on day two."

There isn't a player this cycle that the Colts have reportedly met with more than Texas WR Xavier Worthy. That doesn't always lead to teams drafting a player, but it is definitely noteworthy. Worthy also projects as a WR who could fill the Colts' need at Z WR or the Y (slot). Worthy's next-level speed, route running, and incredible college production will lead to him being a top-40 pick, in my opinion. And if he falls out of round one, I think the Colts should pounce at the chance to add a player of his skill set to their WR room. 

Round 3, Pick 82: Calen Bullock, S, USC

One of the Colts' biggest needs entering the draft is at FS, and while there are multiple players who can play both safety positions, USC's Calen Bullock is one of the best clear-cut FS options in this draft class. Bullock's coverage ability is among the best of any safety this year, and as often as the Colts deploy single high coverage, that skill will likely entice them. He needs to become a better tackler at the next level, but Bullock offers so much upside for a player who will only be 21 years old during his rookie season. 

Round 3, Pick 94: Mason McCormick, G, South Dakota State

South Dakota State's Mason McCormick was the team's starting LG and allowed just two sacks over the last three years and didn't allow a single sack last season. While McCormick only played LG at South Dakota State, he projects as a player who can play at all three interior line spots. And with the Colts having both Ryan Kelly and Will Fries entering the final year of their current contract, having a high-upside lineman as a depth piece behind both this year could lead to him becoming a starter for the team in the near future.
