We could probably come up with 50 takeaways after what we witnessed yesterday, but we’ll limit it to three for now since it’s a long offseason.
1. The Jaguars need to embrace and take ownership of Liam Coen's haunting rendition of the Duval chant.
When I heard it, I got chills.

That’s exactly the feeling I want opposing quarterbacks to experience on a 3rd and 9, with the Jumbotron blasting out the video, all 41,000 fans on their feet, happily serenading "Duuuvaaaallllll" in Coen-style like they’re performing on a cruise ship. Even someone like C.J. Stroud, who never cusses, might let out a WTF at that moment!
Let's be honest: the old way wasn't working. So, why not try something new?
2. This is all about Trevor Lawrence, as it should be.
Coen has established himself as a quarterback whisperer, demonstrating an impressive track record throughout his career with players like Will Levis, Baker Mayfield, Matthew Stafford, and others.
The Jaguars have heavily invested in Trevor, and providing him the best possible path to success benefits everyone.
Coen addressed Trevor’s importance early in the press conference. “I was telling Trevor this the other day that I've watched him play live as a freshman in high school. It was Buford High School…I was seeing this freshman in high school play the position at a high level, standing tall, making throws, delivering. I walked out of there, ‘Man, this is different. I had no idea who he was.’ Then you fast-forward to now. How do we make Trevor Lawrence and this offense as dynamic and explosive as we can be? We've got to build it around him as well. We've got to make every part of this about improvement, and he will be a part of that process. He's earned that right. I cannot respect his toughness and mentality and work ethic more than I do already from afar. This will all be about Trevor right now,” said Coen.
You have to love that! Excitement, enthusiasm, and respect—some qualities that have been missing in recent years.
3. Prepare for the Travis Etienne we witnessed at Clemson!

If you're excited to see what Trevor can accomplish this season, don't overlook Travis in the backfield with him. While Tank Bigsby’s role has been growing, if Coen can replicate the success he had with Bucky Irving in Tampa Bay while working with Travis in Jacksonville, fans are in for some exciting times ahead!
