Three Teams That Could Sign Broncos RB Javonte Williams

Javonte Williams has had an up-and-down career for the Denver Broncos so far in his career. He showed a lot of promise in his rookie year, but after tearing his ACL in his sophomore season he has shown flashes but has never been able to get back to full form.

With Williams being a free agent, and the Broncos having some struggles running the ball the past few years it looks like they are going to move on from Williams and look to either draft or sign someone else in free agency.

Williams is on multiple teams radar, and he seems to be already receiving interest from multiple teams that want to take a chance on the young running back. There are a few teams where it would make perfect sense for both parties to agree.

First is the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs may be the perfect destination for Williams, and we have seen from last year that running backs have no problem staying in the division. Samaje Perine and Kareem Hunt are both free agents for the Chiefs this year and the Chiefs could be looking to take a chance on a younger and more talented player.

The Chiefs have shown that they can win without a star running back and they seem to prefer to have young guys on low contracts. So taking a chance on Williams seems like no issue for them because they will not be solely relying on him to win games. If both sides can agree to a deal this would be a great match.

The next team would be the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys might be the team most desperate for a running back. Their starter for last year, Rico Dowdle, is a free agent and they released Ezekiel Elliot. Since the Cowboys are unsure if they want to use a first-round pick on a running back they could draft elsewhere and look to sign one in free agency.

This could make them the perfect team to take a chance on Williams. The Cowboys have a very solid and young offensive line that could be perfect for Williams, he has also played 33 of his last possible 34 regular season games so the injury bug does not seem to be an issue for him anymore.

The last team is the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are in dire need of a running back, but they also desperately need a quarterback which is what they projected to take in the first round. This could mean that they look to free agency to sign a back.

The Raiders have Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah set to be free agents, and with both of them having alright seasons they will most likely move on and look elsewhere. The Raiders are a rebuilding unit that has the time to take a chance on Williams. They are not in a win-now situation so they do not need to ace this signing.

Wherever Williams ends up it will be fun to see how he does in a new setting and if he can finally reach the 1,000-yard mark.
