Three teams that should pursue Milton Williams this offseason

Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams is one of the headliners of a talented group of pass-rushers in the 2025 free-agency class.

With his performance last season, Williams likely made a lot of money for himself, as he produced at an elite level as a pass-rusher, particularly down the stretch of the season.

Pro Football Focus projects him to land a three-year deal worth $63M, which is an average of $21M annually. Here are three teams that should pursue the star defensive tackle this offseason:

Carolina Panthers

It's no secret that the Panthers have holes to fill at just about every position across the defensive side of the ball, as their offseason approach last season was to heavily prioritize giving Bryce Young the pieces he needs to succeed on offense.

That strategy paid dividends, as Young played well down the stretch of the season and they can feel confident in him developing further in the coming years. However, this offseason, they need to make some investments on defense if this team is going to have a shot at competing next season.

Signing Williams to pair Derrick Brown with another high-end defensive tackle would give this unit a real strength and identity which it currently lacks.

Cincinnati Bengals

Despite Trey Hendrickson producing at an elite level, the Bengals struggled mightily to consistently rush the passer last season. And with B.J. Hill set for free agency, their need for pass-rush is amplified.

The pass-rush won't be fixed with just one player, but signing Williams would be an excellent start. He can be counted on to consistently create pressure, and his presence would make everyone else's job easier along the defensive line.

It would come as a surprise if the Bengals made a splash by signing Williams, as they don't typically make big free-agent signings. However, with their drastic need for pass-rushers, it's something they should consider, especially if they are unable to retain wide receiver Tee Higgins and find themselves with more money to spend.

Arizona Cardinals

In order to be competitors in the NFC West next season, it's imperative that the Cardinals improve their pass-rush, an area in which they struggled last year.

With over $70M in cap space to utilize this offseason, Arizona has the resources to make a big splash to give that pass-rush a boost.

Adding Williams to this defensive line would give the Cardinals a high-level pass rusher on whom they can rely to win in big situations, which is something this unit currently lacks.
