Three Titans Who Stood Out During Tuesday's OTAs

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Titans went through their second of ten organized team activity practices on Tuesday, with the local media in attendance. While the team worked in shorts and helmets, some players stood out during the two hours of work in the early summer heat.  

Here are the three players that flashed on more than one or two plays during the session.

Tyjae Spears

The third-round rookie running back from Tulane was an easy, obvious choice. Not only did he have some impressive runs, making players miss and showing his speed, but he also had the catch of the day when he stretched and dove to secure a one-handed catch from Ryan Tannehill during the team period of practice.  

Jeffery Simmons

The newly signed Simmons was an unpadded force, as he repeatedly forced his way past offensive linemen, including, at one point, blowing up rookie offensive lineman Peter Skoronski. While this is not unexpected from Simmons, he seemed to be ready for the season to begin rather than an early season practice. 

Arden Key  

The new Titans edge rusher flashed both his speed and power repeatedly as he found his way to the quarterbacks multiple times during the session. It's easy to see what general manager Ran Carthon saw when deciding to sign the well-traveled talent. Key's first step get off, and his ability to transfer that speed to power was repeatedly on display. 

 Simmons spoke with the media following the session. 

"I'm just happy to be back out there in the grove, trying to get the grove of everything," said Simmons. "The first week actually doing full-speed stuff with the team, especially, I felt good, and I'm feeling good so far. It's been three months rehabbing, and just to be back out there with the guys, being in meetings with the guys, I feel good, so I'm happy to be back with the guys."   

Simmons and "the guys" will work again on Wednesday in the final session of this week before returning next week for more work.
