Unfortunately for head coach Dan Campbell, the Detroit Lions won’t, in fact, host the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC divisional round of the playoffs like he predicted after their 31-9 victory over them in Week 18.
Also unfortunately for the Lions, they are tasked with stopping one of the most dangerous mobile quarterbacks and one of the best offenses in the NFL in Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders instead.
Saturday’s showdown is one of the more anticipated matchups of the four remaining playoff games this weekend, and the ticket prices certainly reflect that.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the average ticket price for Saturday’s game at Ford Field in Detroit is $991 on TickPick, making it the most expensive NFL game in the site’s history, not including Super Bowls.
The lowest get-in prices for the Commanders-Lions game are going for $456 on VividSeats, while the cheapest tickets on other sites — SeatGeek ($531), TickPick ($588), StubHub ($600) — are in the same approximate range.
The most expensive tickets for the game can be found on VividSeats where guests can sit in lower level 128 for a hefty $6,105 per ticket. SeatGeek has the next most-expensive seat, which is on the 50-yard line and going for $4,269 apiece. StubHub’s most-expensive ticket is $1,832 each for seats in section 208C.
Fresh off their first-round bye, the Lions are riding a three-game win streak after a 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 15. They, along with the Chiefs, are the only teams to hit the 15-win plateau this season.
Conversely, the Commanders have won their last six games, including Sunday’s 23-20 win over the NFC South champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round. In that game, Daniels threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 36 yards, and Washington had zero punts and zero turnovers for the third time this season.
