Tight End Brevin Jordan's Role Could Pivotal to Texans' Offensive Future

Despite limited opportunities this season, Jordan showcased his ability to make an impact on the field. He posted impressive numbers, including 1.89 yards per route run, ranking sixth among tight ends with over 150 routes (including the Divisional round).

His most significant impact occurred during the wild-card victory against the Cleveland Browns. In that game, Jordan turned a short pass from C.J. Stroud into a 76-yard touchdown late in the second quarter. Notably, he reached a top speed of 20 mph during the catch-and-run, leading to an immediate drug test request from the NFL after the game.

Jordan earned the team's fourth-highest receiving grade, surpassing pending free agent Dalton Schultz.

Jordan was so good down the stretch, in fact, that he was named by PFF as the Texans 'breakout' candidate for 2024. 

That said, we feel it could go one step further. 

Jordan has the ability and potential to do more than just 'breakout'. It may have taken him a couple of years to prove it, but the talent has been there from the start.

Houston already has a dynamic and young receiving corps with Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and John Metchie III. They have a talented running back room, the best young quarterback in the NFL in C.J. Stroud, and an offensive line that is built to last. 

Meanwhile, Jordan is a matchup nightmare, meaning that, thanks to the talent surrounding him on the roster, he could very well be running wild early and often in 2024. 

In other words, now that he has established chemistry with Stroud, Jordan's place in the offense will be pivotal, especially if Schultz isn't brought back in free agency.

Perhaps even to the point where he could be mentioned in terms of his first Pro Bowl nod if things go the way many expect they could.
