NFL Insider Jordan Schultz is reporting that free agent tight end Noah Fant, who Seattle recently released, is visiting with the Miami Dolphins today.
Fant has played in 95 games, with 83 starts and has 15 career touchdowns.
Fant will be 28 in November and is coming off a solid season with the Seahawks, where he played in 14 games, started 9, and had 48 receptions for 500 yards and one touchdown. Fant is not known for his blocking ability and is essentially a pass-catching tight end only at this point in his career.
His overall PFF grade last season at tight end was 66.0 ranking him 22nd out of 37 tight ends. His receiving grade was 70.2 ranking him 21st out of 37 tight ends.

Fant was a 1st round draft pick by Denver in 2019. He has only played for Denver and Seattle.
Production-wise, he has always been a productive pass catcher since entering the league. In 2019, he played in 16 games, starting 11 with 40 receptions and 3 touchdowns. In 2020, he played in 15 games, starting 14 with 62 receptions and 3 touchdowns.
In 2021, his final season in Denver, he started all 16 games, had 68 receptions for 670 yards and 4 touchdowns.
His three seasons in Seattle, he played in 48 total games, starting 42, with 130 receptions, for 1,400 yards and five touchdowns.
Miami lost a lot of production when Jonnu Smith was traded to Pittsburgh.
Jonnu had 88 receptions for 884 yards and 8 touchdowns last year.
Miami did trade for Darren Waller, but he retired last season, is currently on PUP, and per Mike McDaniel, is not in “game shape” at this time.
The other Dolphins tight ends, like Julian Hill, Tanner Conner, and Pharaoh Brown, are not great pass-catching tight ends per se.
Fant would be a huge boost to this offense, and there may be minimal drop off from what he can give Miami to what Jonnu gave Miami last season.
