It was learned earlier on Sunday that quarterback Will Levis was being cut. That seemed to help Hooker’s chances of making the initial roster, but that has not turned out to be the case. The former Lions draftee will hit the waiver wire. If he goes unclaimed, it will be interesting to see if Tennessee looks to keep Hooker in the fold via a practice squad deal.

Earlier cuts included the decision to move on from guard Cordell Volson. The latest slew of moves has focused elsewhere on offense, with several receivers being let go. Osborn is a veteran of 67 games, although he did not see any game time in 2025. Johnson, meanwhile, has made 109 combined regular and postseason appearances in the NFL. Either or both of them could be brought back over the coming days as depth options on a Tennessee team in transition.

2026 has once again allowed teams to designate up to two players for return from injured reserve when setting their initial rosters. In Tennessee’s case, both Mausi and Williams will already count toward the limit of eight activations for the season. James and Kpassagnon, on the other hand, are set to miss the coming campaign unless they wind up being released with an injury settlement and landing a deal elsewhere.
