Titans-Bills, Vikings-Eagles to feature in Week 2 'Monday Night Football' doubleheader

While the entire schedule for the 2022 NFL season won't officially be released until Thursday evening, the league confirmed ahead of last month's draft that information for "select games" would be announced across the first several days of this week.

As noted by the NFL's website, the schedule will include a unique "Monday Night Football" doubleheader for Week 2 on Sept. 19. The Tennessee Titans will play at the Buffalo Bills in a contest scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. ET and that will air on ESPN. That same night, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Minnesota Vikings at 8:30 p.m. ET. That matchup will air on ABC.

The Titans defeated the Bills 34-31 in a thrilling encounter last October, and both teams suffered harsh playoff defeats in January. Buffalo fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime of an instant classic, while Tennessee lost at home to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Minnesota, meanwhile, has Kevin O'Connell serving as their new head coach and will take on a Philadelphia side that, per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, has gone 4-1 in its past five home "Monday Night Football" games. The Eagles will likely be hoping quarterback Jalen Hurts will connect with newly-acquired weapon A.J. Brown for at least one touchdown in prime time.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, there will be additional announcements regarding games the next few mornings before Thursday night.
