Titans' Cam Ward Receives Historic Prediction Before Rookie Season

There's no doubt the Tennessee Titans are looking to put the 2024 season — when they went 3-14, finished last in the AFC South and earned the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft — far behind them.

Of course, there is some hope surrounding the franchise, with much of it stemming from rookie quarterback Cam Ward, whom the Titans wound up selecting with that top pick.

Ward will be coming in and immediately trying to help the Titans' offense, which in 2024 struggled heavily, ranking 26th in total yards per game (304.2) and 27th in points per game (18.3).

The expectations sit relatively high and in an article for ESPN, Mike Clay projected stat leaders for multiple rookies, where he has Ward throwing for 3,392 yards and 20 touchdowns in 15 starts.

If those numbers become a reality, then Ward would break multiple records, including the most passing yards for a rookie in franchise history, set by Warren Moon in 1984 (3,338) and passing touchdowns for a rookie, set by Marcus Mariota in 2015 (19).

It's certainly a possibility, as Ward has a proven ability to put up impressive numbers and in 2024 for the Miami Hurricanes completed 305 of 454 passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions in just 13 games.

The Titans also made several free-agent signings to help him out in his first season, including offensive tackle Dan Moore (four years, $82 million), offensive guard Kevin Zeitler (one-year, $9 million) and wide receiver Tyler Lockett (one-year, $4 million).

It will remain to be seen if Ward can live up to the hype, as Tennessee is set to open up its season with a matchup on the road against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 7.
