Titans find new holes in their sinking ship in humiliating loss vs Texans
USA TODAY Sports

HOUSTON -- The Tennessee Titans (0-4) are hopeless, it seems. Against their ownership's most hated rival, the Houston Texans (1-3), coach Brian Callahan's team was shutout 26-0.

Humiliation against the Texans is the quickest way to get a Tennessee coach relieved of his duties.

Titans play like a minor league team

At least in the three previous losses, one could find common denominators.

Penalties, sacks and drops have marred early Titans results. On Sunday in Houston, quarterback Cam Ward was sacked only twice. Tennessee had only four penalties accepted against them (season low).

Still, Titans were bludgeoned.

"It's a reflection of all of us not doing anything well enough at this point," Callahan said on Sunday night. "That's players, that's coaches, that's everybody. We haven't found a way to win a game in awhile. I think that reflects on all of us."

Callahan's record as the head coach in Tennessee is now 3-17 dating back to his first season in 2024.

This most recent defeat at the hands of another floundering division rival shows just how futile things are for the franchise. Ward's growth and development are the only things that matter, but he a rookie with precious little help around him. That his team played a relatively clean game by their standards and still got its ass kicked is telling.

The Titans will travel to Arizona in Week 5 to take on the Cardinals (2-2).
