Titans first-rounder details recovery following ruptured appendix

Skoronski, the 11th overall pick in April’s draft, disclosed that he hasn’t had much of an appetite lately and has lost some weight due to the whole ordeal. Though he hasn’t played in two weeks, Skoronski has been cleared by doctors to begin to start lifting weights and doing core workouts.

The Northwestern alum is slowly working his way back into the weight room and team conditioning drills, and the Titans plan to ease him back into the lineup, meticulously adding more to his plate day by day. 

He will presumably miss Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Nissan Stadium.

“It is definitely frustrating,” Skoronski added. “As a young guy you want to get as many live (reps) as you can, and missing games like this sucks for me. So that's definitely frustrating, because you want to be on the field as soon as possible. But you also don't want to be out there in a position where you can't do the right thing for your team, perform for your team.”

In Skoronski’s absence, Dillon Radunz (100 snaps) and Xavier Newman (12 snaps) have filled in at left guard. Radunz has allowed six pressures, five hurries, one hit and no sacks in two games, while Newman is credited with one pressure and one sack allowed, but he was benched quickly against the Chargers.

Tennessee’s offensive line sorely missed Skoronski’s presence. The unit has combined to allow 37 pressures, 19 hurries, 12 sacks and six hits, led by left tackle Andre Dillard, who’s surrendered 16 pressures, six hurries and six sacks, per Pro Football Focus. The Titans are tied with he Chicago Bears for the second-most sacks allowed this season.
