The Tennessee Titans have been busy reconstructing the roster this offseason under new general manager Mike Borgonzi. With the team going through rookie minicamps, they've gotten a better idea of who is and isn't a fit.
Tennessee made a number of roster moves on Tuesday. The team announced that they've signed defensive lineman Carlos Watkins. They also were awarded linebacker Amari Burney from the waiver wire after he was waived by the Las Vegas Raiders earlier in the week.
To make room for the new players, the Titans cut ties with veteran defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson, who was with the team last season.
Watkins has been in the NFL since 2017 when he was a fourth-round pick of the Houston Texans. He's bounced around the NFL quite a bit, having played for five teams before signing with the Titans.
He was most recently a member of the Dallas Cowboys last season and played in 15 games for the team. He should bring a solid veteran presence to the Titans' defensive line room.
Burney is a much younger player, having been drafted by the Raiders in the sixth round in 2023. He played in 17 games for Las Vegas last season, but the team decided to waive him amid rookie minicamp.
Burney has shown some flashes, as he had three tackles for loss and a sack last season. He's an intriguing player for the Titans to take a chance on.
Anderson played four games for the Titans last season, but didn't put up any notable stats.
