The Tennessee Titans won just three games during the 2024 NFL season. This netted them the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and the rights to draft Miami quarterback Cam Ward, who the Titans hope will be a franchise player in Tennessee.
Ward was far from the only upgrade that the team made this offseason, however. They completely revamped the pass-catching group by adding veterans Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson as well as a slew of mid-round draft picks spent on wide receivers and tight ends.
Defensively, the interior line is more or less the same, but things have dramatically shifted on the edge. Gone is former Pro Bowler Harold Landry III, and in came second-rounder Femi Oladejo and free agent Dre'Mont Jones.
Despite all these changes, however, new general manager Mike Borgonzi spoke to the media on Tuesday ahead of training camp about potentially upgrading the roster even more before the season.
"Our work is never done, though, we're always going to be looking to improve this roster wherever we can," Borgonzi said. "We added some good players in the offseason here to help the competition here on the roster, whether that's in free agency or the draft."
President of Football Operations Chad Brinker echoed this statement later in the press conference by acknowledging that the team is constantly trying to improve the roster.
"We're gonna look at other opportunities to upgrade the roster when we can," Brinker said. "If we're able to do that, we will."
The Titans will have a hard time clawing their way out of the bottom of the AFC South, but they have made the necessary changes this offseason to at least compete in 2025.
