Titans OC Arthur Smith set to interview for several head-coaching jobs

The Tennessee Titans' season is officially over, but offensive coordinator Arthur Smith won't get to enjoy some well-earned rest and relaxation quite yet, as he is set to be interviewed as a potential head-coaching candidate for several NFL teams. In fact, his interview process already began last night, as he was interviewed by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This week, Smith is scheduled to interview with the New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions. The Houston Texans are the only team with a head-coaching opening that does not have an official interview set up, but ESPN's Adam Schefter said the team does plan on meeting with Smith as it conducts its coaching search.

Smith has become one of the most highly coveted coordinators in the league thanks to helping make the Titans one of the most well-balanced and potent offensive attacks in the entire NFL. Tennesse finished top-four in both yards and points per game this season, making them one of the most lethal offenses in the entire league and helped the teamearn a playoff spot despite having one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

But there may be questions about Smith following the Titans' disappointing playoff performance against the Baltimore Ravens. Tennessee scored only 13 points in the game, and the Baltimore defense successfully stifled the Titans through the air and on the ground. One game is likely not enough for Smith to not be taken seriously as a coaching candidate but he may have to offer an explanation for the performance.
