Brian Callahan's first year as the Tennessee Titans head coach didn't go according to plan. The Titans were the worst team in the NFL and finished with the No. 1 pick.
Though Callahan is only in his second year on the job as a head coach, he's going to be on the hot seat considering there's a new general manager in Mike Borgonzi calling the shots.
To help make up for his lack of heading coaching experience, Callahan is hiring a very experienced coach to his staff. According to Paul Kuharsky, Tennessee has hired Mike McCoy as a senior offensive assistant.
McCoy has been coaching at the NFL level for over two decades and also played quarterback before getting into coaching. He was the head coach of the Chargers for four seasons from 2013 to 2016. He had a 27-37 record during that span.
He hasn't had a chance to be a head coach again but has a ton of experience as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Callahan calls the shot on offense for the Titans but McCoy is an experienced voice for him to lean on.
He should also have some strong insight into the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars as he was their quarterbacks coach for the last three seasons.
