Titans Select Former Cam Ward WR in Latest Mock Draft

The Tennessee Titans have been honing in on Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. While nothing will be official until the draft begins on April 24, the rumors that are swirling and the franchise's offseason moves have helped people put the pieces together.

Before Ward starred at Miami, however, he was a gunslinger for the Washington State Cougars, throwing passes to targets like Josh Kelly, Lincoln Victor and Kyle Williams. On Thursday, ESPN's Matt Miller released a mock draft in which the Titans select both Ward and Williams, reuniting them in Tennessee.

Williams was a fourth-round selection in Miller's mock draft, joining the Titans after a season in which he caught 70 passes for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns. In the season that he overlapped with Ward at Washington State, he also had a solid season in which he recorded 61 catches for 843 yards and six touchdowns.

Tennessee needs wide receiver help, as Calvin Ridley is the only legitimate pass-catching threat on the roster. While Williams would immediately fill a hole on the team, he would also provide a familiar target and a sure set of hands for rookie quarterback Cam Ward. He may not be an elite wide receiver by Week 1, but his rapport with Ward and his clear path for playing time may expedite that process.
