Titans Star Makes Feelings Clear About Cam Ward After Rookie Mini-Camp

There's a lot of excitement surrounding the Tennessee Titans franchise selecting Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Of course, with Miami, last season he was amazing, appearing in 13 games, completing 305-of-454 passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a 172.2 passing efficiency rating.

The Titans got their first in-person look at Ward during the team's rookie mini camp (May 9-10), and in a video posted to the Bussin' With The Boys YouTube channel, offensive tackle JC Latham shared his thoughts on the young quarterback.

“Great kid, humble kid, outgoing…he's real quiet but definitely pushing himself to learn the system,” Latham said.

“He’s a leader, you know, takes accountability for, you know, himself and whenever he, you know, makes a mistake before, you know, anybody can say anything about it. So, I’m excited for him; I think he has an amazing future ahead of him."

For the team as a whole, the expectations don't sit too high, as ESPN BET gives them the fourth-best odds (+750) of winning the AFC South, which is well behind the Houston Texans with the best (+105).

It's certainly a long road considering that last year their offense was among the worst in the NFL, finishing the season ranked 26th in total yards per game (304.2) and 27th in points per game (18.3).

Latham isn't the only one impressed by Ward, though, as head coach Brian Callahan also chimed in on the rookie's offseason performance via an article from the team's official website.

"Cam has done a really nice job of integrating himself," Callahan said. "A lot of that is knowing the play call, being able to spit it out in the huddle, having the tempo, getting familiar with the receivers, what the words mean, how to call it, and how your snap count sounds."

The hope that Ward can come in and immediately put up solid numbers remains high, as ESPN's Mark Clay projects that he will complete 313-of-503 passes for 3,392 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 15 games.
