Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles didn't shy away from criticizing Tom Brady while discussing last Thursday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
"He could have made some better throws," Bowles said of Brady's performance during an appearance on the Buccaneers Radio Network, according to the Joe Bucs Fan website. "We could have had some better adjustments down the field and the offensive line could have blocked better. It’s all-inclusive as a group and we gotta be clicking for four quarters."
The Buccaneers took a 10-3 lead into the second quarter of what became a 27-22 defeat that dropped them to 3-5 on the season. Brady's only touchdown pass in the contest came late in the fourth quarter when the matchup was essentially decided.

In all, Brady completed 26-of-44 passes for 325 yards with the single touchdown and no interceptions against the Ravens. Per ESPN stats, the seven-time Super Bowl champion is second in the entire NFL this season with 2,267 passing yards, 14th among eligible quarterbacks with a 92.4 passer rating and 17th with a 49.1 total QBR. However, the 45-year-old has thrown just nine touchdown passes across eight games and has been accused of missing open receivers and even showing his age throughout the campaign.
Of course, it cannot be ignored Brady has also been dealing with a much-publicized divorce that he and Gisele Bündchen announced last Friday. It would be silly to think the G.O.A.T. wouldn't have his on-the-field play impacted by such a massive behind-the-scenes matter.
For what it's worth, ESPN's Jenna Laine has named Tampa Bay's interior protection as Brady's biggest football-related problem of the season to date. Whatever is ailing Brady and company, they'll look to right the ship when they host the 3-4 Los Angeles Rams Sunday.
