The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost for the first time this season on Sunday, but it wasn't because of Bucky Irving. The 23-year-old tailback led the team in rushing and receiving in its 31-25 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles, totaling 63 rushing yards on 15 carries as well as five catches for 102 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Irving is only averaging 3.3 yards per carry this year, but he's made up for it with his pass-catching. The University of Oregon product is leads the Buccaneers with 19 receptions and is behind only rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka in yards (193) and touchdowns (two).

In addition to Irving being one of the most talented players on Tampa Bay's offense, he has also yet to miss a game since the organization drafted him last year. However, head coach Todd Bowles revealed an ominous update about the 5-foot-10, 195-pounder on Monday, via The Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud.

When asked if Irving was among the injured players he was concerned about, Bowles said “Yeah, he’s one of them." The Illinois native is dealing with an undisclosed injury and is awaiting MRI results, via Yahoo! Sports.

On the bright side, cornerback Benjamin Morton (hamstring) has avoided a longterm absence , via Fox Sports' Greg Auman. Morton and fellow corner Jamel Dean (groin) each exited the Philadelphia game early due to injury.

Buccaneers Banged Up Before Seahawks Game

Tampa Bay could use some injury luck considering that defensive tackle Calijah Kancey (pectoral) is out for the rest of the regular season. The 24-year-old led the team with 7.5 sacks last season.

On top of that, fellow lineman Greg Gaines (pectoral), who played 32 of the Buccaneers' 34 regular season games from 2023 to 2024, left the Eagles game early. That's not to mention superstar receiver Mike Evans, who missed the contest after injuring his hamstring against the New York Jets in Week 3.

Still, the Buccaneers have several core players healthy as of Monday, including quarterback Baker Mayfield, Egbuka, wide receiver Chris Godwin, left tackle Tristan Wirfs, nose tackle Vita Vea, and linebacker Lavonte David. They're positioned to have another competitive outing on the road against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5.

The Seahawks, who are also 3-1, are coming off of a 23-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. They've won three straight games since losing 17-13 to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.

Sunday's game will start at 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS.
