Fans watching Saturday night's playoff game between the Lions and Commanders might've noticed Tom Brady tip-toeing around a certain subject on FOX's broadcast.
Brady, a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, is believed to be heavily involved in the recruiting of Detroit offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to be the team's next head coach — as the 38-year-old is one of the hottest names in this year's coaching cycle.
But when asked about his new role by partner Kevin Burkhardt, the seven-time Super Bowl champ kept things pretty close to the vest.

"It's just been a great learning experience," Brady replied. "But you realize that the league is full of great potential. What I believe is the resumes, the accolades, they are all earned by what people do on the field. You earn your opportunities and do your performance. Let that ball do the talking. Just as it should be and just how I did when I was a player."
Later on throughout the game, Brady seemingly did all he could to avoid mentioning Johnson by name. Even when one of the OC's trick plays failed and resulted in a Washington pick.
"Ben Johnson dials up a trick play like no one else and they normally work, but that was a disaster," Burkhardt said to a radio silent Brady, before prodding again a few moments later: "Back to the trick play that failed…"
"Tried to run something a little bit gimmicky … and at this point, Williams trying to make a decision, a non-quarterback, trying to throw the ball and read a defense and … not a great time for a trick play," Brady admitted.
It was definitely a little awkward at times, but TB12 made it through without any possible tampering violations.
And now with the Lions' loss, he and others are free to speak to Johnson about opportunities with a formal interview process.
