Tom Brady called himself the 'most miserable 8-0 quarterback' in NFL history

Tom Brady has made headlines for how openly upset he was following the Patriots’ big win over the Eagles last weekend, but apparently the future Hall of Famer was extremely frustrated long before his offense managed to score just 17 points in Philadelphia.

The Patriots played the Ravens on “Sunday Night Football” two weeks ago, and Brady sat down with for an interview with Cris Collinsworth of NBC prior to that game. In an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” this week, Collinsworth said he was stunned that NBC never aired the first comment Brady made in the interview.

“He gave us a line that was the most unbelievable line that we never put on television,” Collinsworth recalled. “I can’t believe we didn’t put it on. His opening line was, ‘I have to be the most miserable 8-0 quarterback in the history of the league.'”

That was before the Patriots lost to the Ravens, so you can imagine how upset Brady must have been after that game.

A lot of Brady’s message is probably being misunderstood. People may interpret his aggravation as selfishness, but in reality he is responsible for the Patriots putting points on the board. When they aren’t doing that, Brady feels he is not doing his job adequately — win or lose. He’s also probably concerned that if New England’s offense doesn’t improve, it will come back to bite the team at some point.

It’s worth noting that Brady’s attitude could also be causing some minor issues in the locker room, so he may need to turn into more of a cheerleader for his younger teammates down the stretch. The Patriots have arguably the best defense in football and are winning games by shutting down opponents. Having to do less to win is probably something Brady should embrace at age 42.
