Tom Brady Eyeing One Final Football Comeback: Report

As far as former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady’s NFL career goes, that book appears to be closed.

However, it doesn’t seem that Brady is ready to give up football completely.

With seven Super Bowls championships, five Super Bowl MVPs, three NFL MVPs, 15 Pro Bowls, six All-Pro selections, and two Offensive Player of the Year awards, there’s isn’t much Brady didn’t accomplish in his 23-year NFL career.

But it seems the one thing Brady hasn’t won is now firmly in his sights: an Olympic gold medal.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, with flag football set to make its Olympic debut in 2028 in Los Angeles, Brady reportedly wants to compete for Team USA.

“He wants a Gold medal,” a source told the Daily Mail. “And what better way to remain the GOAT and return to the sport he loves, by helping his country win gold. He knows he would be able to help and excel in that environment since his life is very much scheduled and has a tight regimen.

“So many things could fall into place for him around that time. With the Olympics being in L.A., he wouldn't have to travel far. And it would culminate in one of the best birthdays ever.”

Brady retired from the NFL in 2022 having thrown for 89,214 yards, 649 touchdowns, and 212 interceptions with a 97.2 passer rating.

The 47-year-old has joked several times about unretiring before but never actually followed through, and given the rules put into place as part of his minority ownership agreement with the Las Vegas Raiders, Brady isn’t allowed to come out of retirement to play for another NFL team.

Brady will be 50 by the time the 2028 Olympics roll around, but if he were to play and capture an Olympic medal, it would certainly make for a memorable few weeks for him.

His 51st birthday falls a few days after the closing ceremony on July 30, and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony is the first week of August. Brady will presumably be a sure-fire first ballot inductee.
