Tom Brady Helps Get His TB12 Wellness Guru A New Job With Las Vegas Raiders

Of course, Tom Brady couldn’t really leave the NFL behind. Now, his controversial right-hand man, Alex Guerrero, is sinking his teeth into the Las Vegas Raiders. Just when you thought the Raiders couldn’t get any more… Raiders, they go and hire Brady’s “body coach” as their new “Wellness Coordinator.” You can’t make this stuff up.

Who is Alex Guerrero?

For those who’ve been living under a rock, Alex Guerrero has been Tom Brady’s guru, trainer, and business partner for the better part of two decades. He’s the architect behind the infamous “TB12 Method,” a regimen of pliability, weird diets, and hydration that supposedly allowed Brady to defy Father Time and play quarterback until he was practically a fossil.

Guerrero’s influence was so profound in New England that he became a locker room fixture, treating other Patriots stars like Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. Of course, this created more than a little friction with the team’s actual medical staff and famously didn’t sit well with a certain perpetually grumpy head coach, Bill Belichick. But hey, when you’re winning Super Bowls, you can get away with having your own personal health wizard on the payroll.

A “Wellness Coordinator” with a Checkered Past

Let’s not sugarcoat it. Hiring Alex Guerrero comes with some serious baggage. This isn’t just about avocado ice cream and resistance bands. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) once sanctioned Guerrero for making some, shall we say, outlandish claims. We’re talking about alleging his products could cure cancer and concussions. Yes, you read that right. He was essentially selling snake oil with a smile, a practice that got him into hot water and should raise more than a few eyebrows around the league.

So, while he’s now tasked with the noble goal of reducing “non-contact, soft tissue injuries” for the Raiders, one has to wonder which methods he’ll be employing. Are we talking about sound biomechanics or some mystical energy alignment? Guerrero insists he’s just “sharing with them some of the philosophies that worked for Tom and I,” not overhauling their entire medical department. We’ll see how long that lasts.

The Brady Effect in Las Vegas

Brady, now a minority owner of the Raiders, has brought his guy into the building. It’s a classic power move, sort of like the NFL changing the broadcast rules specifically for Brady. While their business partnership with the TB12 brand reportedly dissolved last year amid financial troubles, their personal relationship is clearly still rock-solid.

According to The Athletic, this isn’t some rogue move. Raiders owner Mark Davis, GM John Spytek, and even head coach Pete Carroll apparently all gave this the thumbs-up. It seems the allure of the “Brady magic,” even by proxy, is too strong to resist. Guerrero himself admitted it in that same report saying,

“We’ve always talked about if we ever had the opportunity to kind of do it at the team level, that we would love to do that.” Well, opportunity knocked, and it was wearing silver and black.

Final Thoughts

For the Raiders, this is a gamble. On one hand, you get the guy credited with keeping the greatest quarterback of all time on the field. The potential upside—if you can call it that—is a team that stays healthier and performs at a higher level. On the other hand, you’re introducing a controversial figure with a history of questionable medical claims into your organization.

What could possibly go wrong? It’s the Raiders, so we’re about to find out. Get your popcorn ready, because the Alex Guerrero era in Las Vegas is sure to be anything but boring.
