Tom Brady has been watching the Kansas City Chiefs closely this season. The seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback has been monitoring their progress as part of Brady’s role as one of the top analysts for Fox Sports — a job that the 15-time Pro Bowler has taken on since his retirement from the NFL in 2023.
Every week, Brady releases his NFL Power Rankings, assigning a specific rank to each of the top 10 teams in the league. The Chiefs are still considered one of the top contenders for the title this season, but Patrick Mahomes and Co. have not exactly looked the part early in the season. That changed after Week 6, though.
Fox Sports released Brady’s power rankings after six games played in the 2025 campaign, and the 48-year-old had the Tampa Bay Buccaneers claiming the top spot for the first time this season. This comes after Baker Mayfield led the Bucs, one of Brady’s former teams, to an impressive 30-19 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. This saw Tampa improve to 5-1 and strengthen its grip on the No. 1 spot in the NFC South.
The Chiefs were also outstanding in Week 6. They faced a Detroit Lions team coming off four straight wins and widely regarded as one of the hottest sides in the NFL. That did not matter to Kansas City, though, who handily defeated Jared Goff and Co. at Arrowhead Stadium, 30-17.
After leaving the Chiefs out of his top 10 last week, Brady decided that they’ve earned the right to re-enter the rankings. Kansas City, which improved to 3-3 after the Lions' win, is No. 8 in Brady’s Week 6 Power Rankings.
Brady also left a message for Chiefs (and Philadelphia Eagles) supporters who might have something to say about his latest rankings.
“I know Chiefs and Eagles fans might have something to say looking at their teams a few spots back,” said the three-time AP MVP. “But this isn’t math class. The transitive property does not apply to football.”

Brady's complete Week 6 Power Rankings are as follows:
The Chiefs will get a chance to further climb Brady’s rankings with another win in Week 7. They will face the Las Vegas Raiders, which, incidentally, is the team that Brady co-owns, at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
As for Brady, he will be back in the booth for America’s Game of the Week on Fox. The Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Commanders at AT&T Stadium on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled at 4:25 p.m. ET.
