NFL legend Tom Brady had Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in his top 10 power rankings for the first time last week. It was after Dak Prescott and company beat the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in back-to-back games to stay in playoff contention.
Unfortunately, the Cowboys lost to the Detroit Lions, 44-30, in Week 14. Prescott threw for 376 yards and one touchdown, but he was intercepted twice and sacked five times.
Dallas also had no answer for running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who rushed for 43 yards and three touchdowns in the dominant win.
As a result, the Cowboys dropped to 6-6-1 on the season and suffered a blow in their playoff chances, which decreased to just 6% (and has since improved to 10% after the Eagles' recent loss).
With that being said, the Cowboys' stint in Brady's power rankings didn't last as well. When the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers superstar released his top 10 list after Week 14, the Cowboys were noticeably absent.
Brady placed the Cowboys at No. 10 the past week. Now, Dallas has been replaced by the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Cowboys have four games left on the season, and they need to win those remaining contests if they want a shot at a postseason berth. They will face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 15 before facing the Chargers, Washington Commanders and New York Giants.

Should the Cowboys be able to recapture the form they had against the Eagles and Chiefs, it's not hard to see them re-entering Brady's list. For now, though, they will have to prove themselves yet again.
