Tom Brady made his way to Arrowhead Stadium as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs fell to 0-2 on the 2025 NFL season, falling to Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles 20-17 in a Week 2 rematch of Super Bowl LIX.
Mahomes completed 16 of 29 passes for 187 yards with one touchdown and one interception, adding 66 rushing yards and another score on the ground. His lone interception came at a crucial moment.
With about 13 minutes left in the fourth quarter and the Chiefs trailing 13-10, Mahomes tried to hit Travis Kelce at the goal line for a go-ahead score. The ball deflected off Kelce’s hands and into a defender’s, who returned it to the Philadelphia 41. The Eagles capitalized with a touchdown to extend their lead to 10.
While Mahomes and the Chiefs remain winless to begin the new season, Brady doesn't seem too concerned with their struggles.
Brady, now in his second season with FOX Sports, was on the call for the Chiefs-Eagles Week 2 matchup alongside Kevin Burkhardt and sideline reporter Erin Andrews. During the broadcast, the former Patriots and Buccaneers star said he still considers Mahomes the best quarterback in the NFL despite Kansas City’s three-game losing streak, including last season's Super Bowl, which Brady also called.
"He's continued to evolve his game and don't mistake any statistical drop off because I still think he's the most elite player in the game at the quarterback position," Brady said, via Starcade Media.

This wasn’t the first time Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, praised Mahomes, a three-time champ. Before the season, Brady commended him for being “willing to do whatever it takes to win.”
"So Patrick Mahomes, to me, is the one that does that the most often because who he is, obviously his physical talent, how he understands what he needs to do offensively, and he brings a consistent winning attitude to work every single day," Brady said. "In the biggest moments you can depend on him the most. That’s clear."
Mahomes and the Chiefs will eye their first win of the season in Week 3 when they hit the road to face the New York Giants on "Sunday Night Football."
