Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady reportedly helped bring star wide receiver and former New England Patriots teammate Antonio Brown to the Bucs in the fall of 2020, and the two went on to earn championship rings via a Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
This past Sunday, however, Brady could do nothing to prevent Brown from storming off the field in the middle of a matchup at the New York Jets, a decision that sparked the beginning of the end of the receiver's time with the Buccaneers. Understandably, Brady was asked during Thursday's media availability about all that's transpired over the past several days, and the seven-time champion signal-caller was predictably tight-lipped in his answer.
"I think there's a lot of personal, obviously, feelings," Brady responded, per Dan Lyons of Sports Illustrated. "I don't think this is really the week to discuss it though. You know, I'm just going to do the best I can do quarterbacking the team, try to put together a great week, finish strong. You just always deal with different things over the course of the season. That's what we're doing this week."
Earlier in the afternoon, head coach Bruce Arians refuted previous reports when he said Brown's departure from the field stemmed from the seven-time Pro Bowl selection's unhappiness over a lack of targets and had nothing directly to do with a physical setback related to the ankle Brown first hurt in October.
Whatever did or did not happen with the 33-year-old wide receiver, Brady made it clear he's moving forward, along with those still inside the Tampa Bay locker room, toward the postseason tournament.
