Tom Brady Puts NFL on Notice About Rams After 10 Games Played

NFL legend Tom Brady has watched a lot of great football in his life, but the Los Angeles Rams’ latest run has grabbed his full attention.

After the Rams beat the Seattle Seahawks 21-19 to move to 8-2 and take first place in the NFC West, Brady placed the Rams at No. 2 in what he called his “most controversial power rankings to date.”

Brady didn’t try to hide why he’s suddenly high on them.

“The Rams took control of the NFC West with a win against Seattle,” Brady said. “That defense for the Rams stepped up with four interceptions, which I love to see. You’ve gotta be able to win in multiple ways to be great in this league. The Rams, they’re showing they can do that. I’m telling you, the defense might be back this year.”

Coming from the most decorated quarterback in NFL history, that kind of praise carries weight. And based on how the Rams won in Week 11, it makes sense.

Rams’ Defense Sparks Brady’s Confidence

The Rams didn’t produce their usual offensive fireworks against Seattle. Matthew Stafford threw for only 130 yards, and Los Angeles struggled to move the ball after the first quarter. But none of that mattered because the defense kept the Rams in control.

Los Angeles intercepted Sam Darnold four times; two from Kamren Kinchens, and one each from Cobie Durant and Darious Williams. The secondary stopped big plays, the edge rush got pressure and the defensive line clogged the run. Seattle, one of the NFL’s highest-scoring teams, didn’t reach the end zone until the final minutes.

Even late in the game, when the Seahawks tried to steal the win, the Rams leaned on their defense and special teams. Rookie punter Ethan Evans dropped a perfect 50-yard punt at the Seahawks’ 1-yard line with less than two minutes left, forcing Seattle to drive nearly the whole field. Jason Myers’ 61-yard field goal attempt fell short as time expired.

For weeks, the story around the Rams was their high-powered offense. But against the Seahawks, their stars struggled. Davante Adams had only one catch. Stafford averaged his lowest yards per attempt of the season. The offensive line had trouble with Seattle’s rush.

Yet Los Angeles still won because every other unit delivered. Brady’s rankings are always a talking point, and this week was no different. He kept the hard-to-figure-out Kansas City Chiefs in the top 10. He left out the 8-2 Indianapolis Colts entirely.

But putting the Rams at No. 2, above teams like the Buffalo Bills and the Seahawks, was one of his boldest moves.

With a five-game winning streak and a defense catching fire, the Rams suddenly look like a real NFC threat. And when a quarterback who won seven Super Bowls says your defense “might be back,” the rest of the league listens.

The Rams host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next, and every team watching them climb the standings probably hears Brady’s warning ringing in their heads.
