Tom Brady sends parents another comical ‘letter’ from camp

Tom Brady is known for hamming it up on social media, and his latest bit involved him sending a “letter” to his parents, like kids do when at summer camp.

After his first correspondence from training camp last month led to guffaws on social media, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback penned one final missive as his new NFL team redirects its focus from practice to preparing in earnest for Week 1 of the season.

“Dear Mom and Dad: Camp is winding down. It’s been a hot summer, but I’ve gotten a nice tan and I like to play football so I can’t complain,” the six-time Super Bowl winner writes.

Brady also makes note in the letter that he’s excited over how “some new friends joined us in camp during the last week,” likely a reference to the Bucs bringing in Leonard Fournette to beef up the team’s running back corps.

Brady also mentions wide receiver Chris Godwin and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich in the correspondence to his parents, Tom Sr. and Galynn.

Here’s Brady’s first letter from summer camp, which he wrote back in August.

It goes without saying that Brady has cultivated a reputation for having no issue with employing self-deprecating humor on social media, though this letter-writing routine is more wholesomely amusing than anything else.

On the football side of things, Brady has made it clear he cannot wait to exploit opposing defenses with the weapons he has on offense. Godwin, along with fellow standout wide receiver Mike Evans, were already set to provide Brady with plenty of offensive firepower this season.

The fact that the Buccaneers lured longtime Brady teammate Rob Gronkowski out of retirement just makes the already-lethal offense that much more dangerous as well.

More than anything, though, it’s nice to know Brady’s always-solid social media game appears to be in midseason form heading into the 2020 campaign, which kicks off for the Bucs Sunday in a showdown with the division-rival New Orleans Saints.
