Tom Brady signed rookie card sells for $2.4 million at auction

After 23 seasons in the NFL, signed Tom Brady items are still worth high-dollar price tags.

With the sports collectibles market seeing a resurgence lately, it's no surprise a rare rookie card signed by arguably the best quarterback of all time would fetch a high asking price.

This week, PWCC auctioned off a Brady rookie card from the 2000 Contenders Championship Ticket set for $2.4 million, according to TMZ Sports.

Per the report, the $2.4 million price is the third-highest paid for a trading card in 2022 at a public auction and the third-highest for a Brady card ever.

The card is one of only 100 produced and received a Mint grade. Eighty-seven of the 100 Brady cards have been graded, with only a handful receiving mint grades.

Brady's rookie card isn't the only one to fetch a high dollar amount this year. Back in August, a 1952 Mickey Mantle card sold for a record-breaking $12.6 million through Heritage Auctions.
