Tom Brady speaks at college preparatory virtual graduation

The coronavirus pandemic has led to postponements and cancelations of a broad variety of events, including high school and collegiate commencements.

This didn't stop the greatest quarterback of all-time from addressing students.

Current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady spoke at the virtual graduation for the Forman School in Connecticut over the weekend.

Here's what Brady had to say:

"I know it’s obviously a little bit of a different time for all of us. You have a virtual ceremony happening. It’s been a lot of virtual schooling the past few months. We’ve all had our difficult times overcoming different adversities and challenges that we’re facing, and this one is no different.

"I think what you understand is when you're going through things like this, you learn from them and make the best of them."

Brady added that he wasn't a highly recruited quarterback out of high school, but that he didn't let that deter his work ethic en route to playing at Michigan and getting drafted No. 199 overall by the New England Patriots in 2000.

"When I got drafted by the Patriots, nobody believed that I could be a high-caliber player in pro football, but I believed I could," Brady explained.

"Things aren't handed to you as you get older," Brady said. "The things I worked for the most are what I valued the most."
