Tom Brady's Agent Makes Clear Statement On His Future With FOX

Tom Brady's first season as an NFL broadcaster rolls on into the Divisional round this weekend.

Brady is in the first year of a 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX, the largest deal in sports broadcasting history. The future Hall of Famer has been balancing his announcing duties with his position as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Most recently, Brady has been the point man for the organization's general manager and head coach searches.

Given his dual roles and the potential conflicts of interest that arise from them, many have wondered if Brady's time in the booth is limited. That's not the case though, Brady's longtime agent Don Yee told Sports Business Journal Thursday.

“Tom has had a tremendous amount of fun working with Fox this year, and he’s really excited about the future with Fox and his growth on their team,” Yee told SBJ's Ben Fischer. “And this year was the first year of a long relationship.”

Yee then affirmed that Brady intends to fulfill the full length of his lucrative contract.

Of course, if Brady does wind up leaving FOX early, he certainly wouldn't be the first or last major sports figure to change his mind about a job.

Still, while he doesn't "need" all that money, $37.5 million a year is a lot to turn down.

This week, radio host Dan Patrick wondered how Brady will be able to call this Saturday's playoff game between the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders when Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is a candidate for the Raiders' head coaching job.

"What happens if they show Ben Johnson on the sideline?
Patrick asked. "Is Tom Brady, minority owner of the Raiders, allowed to talk about Ben Johnson? Does he have any inside info? Which I believe he would. I love how the NFL makes it seem like, ‘This isn’t a conflict of interest.’”

We'll find out what Brady can and can't say at 8 p.m. ET Saturday.
