Tom Brady is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, with seven Super Bowl victories, three league MVP awards, and a 23‑season career defined by elite performance and many memorable moments. Known for his unmatched competitiveness and ability to elevate teams, Brady retired in 2023 after a career that left few debates about his status among the all-time greats.
Even in retirement, he has remained a prominent figure in football as a lead commentator on Fox. In 2024, Brady took the next step in his post-playing career by acquiring a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, purchasing five percent after the league approved the investment.
Brady’s football expertise was seen as a potential asset for the struggling team, with expectations that his input could help reshape the organization’s direction.
However, since joining the ownership group, the Raiders have struggled. In 2024, they finished 4-13, a result that eventually led to the firing of head coach Antonio Pierce in January. Las Vegas then hired Super Bowl-winning coach Pete Caroll in hopes of turning its fortune around.
But the 2025 season has been even more challenging, as the Raiders currently sit at 2-9, having lost five straight games. The team’s latest setback came in a 24-10 home loss to the Cleveland Browns, which prompted the firing of offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
Amid the struggles, a new report by The Athletic’s Dianna Russini detailed Brady’s growing frustration with the team’s direction.
“I’m told minority owner Tom Brady was a big advocate of bringing in Kelly to run the offense, and he has shared with some people close to him his disappointment in the team’s overall performance. His frustrations go beyond the offense, too.”

Kelly had been hired as the Raiders’ offensive coordinator on February 4, 2025 – a decision Brady reportedly supported. Kelly’s dismissal, combined with the team’s continued struggles, has intensified Brady’s disappointment with the Raiders overall.
The Raiders now face the Los Angeles Chargers (7-4) in a game that could effectively seal their playoff fate. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET, with live coverage on CBS.
