Tony Buzbee says he didn't approach Deshaun Watson attorney about settlements

The back and forth between Tony Buzbee, attorney for the 22 clients who filed civil lawsuits against Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson alleging acts of sexual assault and misconduct, and Rusty Hardin, Watson's lawyer, continues.

Buzbee has used Instagram to respond to Hardin's claim from Thursday that Buzbee had approached the Watson camp about potential settlements. The caption of a post that seems to include a non-disclosure agreement reads:

"Not that many care about it anymore. But there is a thing called 'justice.' And we will find it. Contrary to what Mr. Rusty says, we haven’t 'approached them to settle,' ever. When they approached us they insisted we sign this. We obviously didn’t reach out to them; they begged us via the Texans to mediate. We hold the cards. The truth sometimes or most of the time hurts!!!! We approached them?!? My a--."

Buzbee previously stated during an interview with Mark Berman of Houston's FOX 26 that none of his clients were considering settling the cases out of court and also that at least some of the women who met with the NFL about the league's investigation into the allegations "did not feel like they were being respected."

Watson has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and still does not face any criminal charges. His status for the 2021 NFL season remains up in the air.
