Tony Kornheiser Called Out His ESPN Colleagues On Monday Afternoon

The Philadelphia Eagles got their revenge on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.

The two teams played one another two years ago in Super Bowl LVII, resulting in the Chiefs winning by a field goal, 38-35. They were trailing for most of the game before outscoring the Eagles 17-8 in the fourth quarter.

History would not repeat itself in Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles jumped out to an early 24-0 lead and never looked back in a 40-22 rout of the Chiefs. A couple of garbage-time touchdowns in the fourth quarter made the game closer than it was.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was able to climb to the top of the mountain and get some of the doubters off his back. That pleased Tony Kornheiser, who went after some of his ESPN colleagues who frequently go on Get Up during Monday's edition of Pardon The Interruption

"I see these former NFL players go on the Get Up show and they say, 'Nick Sirianni? You gotta fire him. Nick Sirianni is the problem.' No, no, no, you're the problem. Nick Sirianni is 48-20 and he's been to two Super Bowls in three years," Kornheiser said . "He hired great coordinators. (Vic) Fangio is a great coordinator. Kellen Moore, he lost him now but he's a great coordinator. He appears to know what he's doing."

Now that Sirianni has won a championship, that will get some fans and other media members off his back. He's one of the best coaches in the NFL and will likely stay that way for quite some time.

The Eagles will now have a target on their backs heading into the 2025 season since everyone will want a piece of them.

We'll see who they open the season against when the schedule gets released in the spring.
