Kansas City Chiefs fans can kick back and watch whichever NFL games they'd like in Week 10 with the team on their bye week.
Unlike recent years, Kansas City is in a dog fight not only to win the AFC West, but just to make the postseason. It is currently on the outside looking in at the playoffs with a 5-4 record.
Even though they're not playing this week, the Chiefs will be impacted by what happens in Week 10, which will set the tone for the second half of the season. Here are the top games to keep an eye on.
The Broncos currently lead the division, and will be the Chiefs' first opponent coming off of the bye. If Denver falls to the Raiders on Thursday night and to K.C. next week, that will put the Chiefs just a half game behind them.
Unfortunately, counting on the Raiders to upset the Broncos in Denver is less than ideal. However, crazy things can happen during divisional games, especially ones played on a short week. Regardless of how it plays out, the Chiefs are facing a must-win situations when they take on the Broncos in Week 11.
This game will take place in Berlin, Germany as part of the NFL's International Series. The Falcons have been disappointing this year, but do have solid wins over the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings. They should be playing hard with their season close to being on the line.
The Colts have looked like the best team in the league so far, but are coming off a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They will travel to K.C. to take on the Chiefs in Week 12. If the Chiefs have any hope for making a run at the No. 1 seed in the AFC, beating Indianapolis is a must.
Perhaps the most haunting loss for the Chiefs this season was the game they let get away against Jacksonville. Because of that, the Jaguars are up on K.C. by a half game, and own the tiebreaker. A Houston victory would help out the Chiefs tremendously.
The Texans have been shockingly bad on offense this year. A lot of that can be attributed to their poor offensive line. Quarterback C.J. Stroud will miss this game with a concussion, giving veteran Davis Mills the start. K.C. will host Houston in Week 14 on Sunday Night Football.
Both of these teams are in K.C.'s way in jockeying for postseason positioning. The Chargers are up one game on the Chiefs, and have already beaten them. The two will face off again in a crucial Week 15 showdown at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Steelers currently hold the No. 4 seed in the AFC as they lead the AFC North. The Chiefs don't play Pittsburgh this season, but will battle it out for playoff seeding, whether it's as division winners or wild-cards.
