Top NFL QB’s Important Message At 2024 Women’s Football Fest
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

The commencement speech at Benedictine College on May 11th shared a controversial message and ignited a social media firestorm. If you missed the virtual blaze, Kansas City Chief’s kicker, Harrison Butker, spoke to a crowd of graduates and commencement ceremony attendees at the Kansas-based college. However, the message the athlete had to share was met with mixed reactions by some in attendance before spreading online like a California wildfire in the scorching summer heat.

Thankfully, this article is not about that commencement speech message. Conversely, this article showcases a superstar athlete and a team committed to uplifting their entire community. Through an inclusion-based annual offseason event, one NFL franchise is doing its best to make football accessible to all people in the local community.

Pro-Bowl Key Note Speaker Shares Uplifting Message

A multi-time Pro Bowl quarterback was the scheduled keynote speaker for the Philadelphia Eagles 2024 Women’s Football Festival on Sunday, 05/19/2024. Each year, the Eagles hold “the ultimate Eagles event created specifically for women” to help grow the game of football in the Philly area. The event included a keynote guest, chats with Eagles alumni, a locker room tour, and a chance to perform football drills on the grass at Lincoln Financial Field among other “get up close and personal” to football opportunities.

Tickets were available for purchase on the event website by anyone, even though the event was listed as being “catered to female Eagles fans of all ages.”

During a portion of his speech, the starting quarterback of the feathery franchise shared a powerful message to the women in attendance at the home of the  Super Bowl LII Champion Eagles:

“Women are thrust into positions to have to overcome this, overcome that…and they always do”, the Eagles Pro Bowl signal caller stated in a clip shared by Sports.ish on Instagram. “Yet they lack the respect they deserve. I’m here advocating for it. Not only in football but in every situation. We all know the woman is the rock of everything.”

Nicole Lynn Powers Team Behind Jalen Hurts Brand

Jalen Hurts, star quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, is not wasting his breath when he speaks on this specific message. The QB employs a female agent, Nicole Lynn, among a group of elite women who help him manage his day-to-day business. The story of how Lynn landed the highly-touted quarterback as a client is fascinating.

While Hurts comments this weekend in no way addressed Butker’s commencement speech, his words have always showcased a different mindset on the always fiery discussion topic. Jalen Hurts message when speaking to Sports Illustrated back in August 2022 is a good example:

“I admire anyone who puts their head down and works for what they want”, Hurts said to the sports magazine. “And I know women who do that daily, but they don’t get the same praise as men. They don’t get the praise they deserve.”

Hurts in NFL Spotlight as Eagles Battle Packers in Week One

Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles will be front and center on the National Football League’s schedule as the Birds migrate south of the equator for the first time. On Friday, September 6, 2024, the Eagles will “host” the Green Bay Packers at Corinthians Arena in San Paolo, Brazil. This game will make NFL history as the first game to be played in South America. Additionally, Philly and Green Bay battle in the first Friday night Week One game in over 50 years.
