Top rookie performers from NFL Week 3

Dallas Cowboys LB Jaishawn Barham

Barham was in charge of slowing down Derrick Henry in Dallas' Week 3 contest against the Baltimore Ravens, a daunting task for a 22-year-old rookie. The Michigan product embraced that challenge, recording seven tackles and two tackles for loss to help hold Henry to just 3.4 yards per carry.

Barham's best play of the night came in the fourth quarter when he shot the gap on a fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line and stuffed Henry for a loss. That was a theme all night for the rookie, who tenaciously fought through blocks and made plays in the backfield. He's a bright spot in what's been a disappointing Cowboys defense so far.

Kansas City Chiefs CB Mansoor Delane

Delane didn't suit up in Week 2 due to a shoulder injury, but he was brilliant against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. The LSU product finished with 10 tackles, one tackle for loss and a pass defended in Kansas City's 24-10 win. 

In the second quarter, Delane fought through a block and blew up a screen behind the line of scrimmage. That's exactly the kind of play that defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo wants to see from his defensive backs. 

Washington Commanders LB Sonny Styles

Styles makes the column for the second time in three weeks, and he deserves the spot after leading the Commanders to an upset victory against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. Washington knew it needed to force turnovers to hang with the reigning champs, and that's exactly what Styles did with a forced fumble and an interception.

Not only is Styles making impact plays every week, but he's also doing an incredible job operating as the quarterback on defense. The 21-year-old is wise beyond his years, and his ability to diagnose formations and get everyone in the right spot pre-snap is remarkable for a rookie.
