With the 2025 NFL season inching closer, Jaguars fans have plenty to look forward to—and one name in particular has everyone buzzing. Travis Hunter, the kind of rare talent that doesn’t come around often, is ready to make waves in Jacksonville with his unique ability to play on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and cornerback.
But it’s not just his game that has people talking. As training ramps up, Hunter and his quarterback are already showing signs of early chemistry, debuting a new signature handshake that’s got fans wondering could this be the start of something special?
A video posted by the NFL shows Travis Hunter and Trevor Lawrence dapping it up after a training session. Their handshake even came with a bit of playful theatrics—just two guys having fun and building that bond as they gear up to put on a show for Jaguars fans this season as the caption on the post suggests the duo are "locked in."

The NFL’s newest two-way star made it official last week. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter to his rookie deal—a four-year, $46.6 million contract with a massive $30.5 million signing bonus, according to Ian Rapoport.
The Jags traded up in April’s draft to snag Hunter, sending a pile of picks to the Browns to make sure they didn’t miss out on the dynamic wide receiver/cornerback. First-year GM James Gladstone even called him a player who could “alter the trajectory of the sport.” No pressure, right?
Hunter lit up college football at Colorado, playing both sides of the ball and winning the Heisman after putting up 10+ TD catches and 5+ interceptions in his career—something no one in FBS had done since 2000. He’s already turning heads in offseason workouts, practicing one position at a time before ramping up to both.
